"Niggers"
~~
..The "Word" Is Not Meant To Be An
Ethnic Slur..
- But -
Is A Word Used
"Then & Now"
For Those Looked Down Upon That
Were & Are
"Non - Whites"
~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember when We used to have to drink from the Colored fountains? Remember when We used
to eat in the Colored sections of the cafe? Remember when We used to have to ride at the back of the bus? Remember when We,
if we were not white We had to go to the Colored rest rooms? Remember when We were looked down upon because the others thought
We were not of the level of intelligence to go to the White schools? Well, that discrimination still exist today. If you are
Black, Yellow, White or Brown today you do not have to prove anything, just admit it.
Those of Indian heritage are the Only Ones that have to prove that they are who they are.
The ones
that are not numbered, registered, as if We are back in the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's and
some places even today are looked down upon. If you can not prove you are Indian you have a different gate to go in to watch
a PowWow (for example - Anadarko, Oklahoma)at the American Indian Exposition. One gate for non registered Indians or non whites(red,
blacks, yellows, browns)who have to pay, another gate for those with that almighty BIA card. These Uncle Toms, the blacks
used to refer to those of their color that were Kissy, Kissy with Big Brother, now you not only have to
Kissy, Kissy Big Brother
but be numbered and willing to suck up to those of our own race and ethnic heritage that
are numbered like a slab of meat hanging in a cold locker.
Another incident was at Tsalagi in Tahlequah, Oklahoma when my sister "Little Dove"(an
elder of Thoughts For Living, Two Feathers Lodge and the Red Road Indian Spiritual Council),my wife "Soft Whisper" and myself
"Rolling Thunder" all very deep believers in the Indian Spiritual ways, all very deep Indian Spiritual Council members, went
to the Village. There was one price for those with a number, BIA card and another price for those of us not numbered, the
Y-2-K Niggers. Needless to say my sister was very hurt because she is Indian and just because our grandmothers and grandfathers
protected our mothers and fathers by not registering with Big Brother so they could attend college, Oklahoma City University
as well as the grade schools, middle schools and high schools.
My father and grandfather have eaten dog and gut from the pot of a sister of the blood
on the "Rez" outside of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma but we are not good enough because of that almighty number to eat an Indian Taco
at Anadarko.
What happened to what Martin Luther King attempted to do and got murdered over his vision
of equality?
What happened to the Federal Law of non discrimination?
I will tell you what happened.
There is also a Department of Interior Museum in Anadarko,
Oklahoma that charges money to see our heritage and past.
Who the hell does it belong to...
"Huh"
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
When we take a knife and cut ourselves do we not bleed the same color blood whether you
be black, brown, yellow or white? My God even Red, we are all one. Houses, bodies of many colors, blood of one color, it is
not the amount of African in the black body, the amount of Oriental in the yellow body, the amount of Latin in the brown body
or the amount of European in the white body but the amount of Spirit of heritage, another word would be Pride.
I personally spent two tours of duty in North, Central, South Korea. One tour of duty
in North, Central, South Vietnam putting my life on the line for our Freedom.
Where the Hell is it?
Segregation, discrimination is not dead, it is still alive and well, is it back to the
old way. My place as an unnumbered Indian is now, back to the back of the bus and the numbered Indians get to sit in the front.
I get to eat in the unnumbered section of the PowWow grounds and stand in the colored, unnumbered line to use the unnumbered
rest rooms and drink from the unnumbered water fountain. May the Great Spirit have mercy on your Souls and Spirits. You high
and mighty
