~ Seasons Of Life ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not the Seasons of the year particularly, but the Seasons of Life itself. It is like the seasons, seemingly we are born into this world, it is the Spring or springtime with our budding as a baby. We start out as only a seed in Mother Earth, we germinate into a plant, a growing, living thing upon this earth with breath and life and a body of substance. This plant grows and we become a bud, as a baby, as with flowers and other things of nature, as with fruits and berries. Some fill out more fully while others may be undernourished, may be smaller, may not survive this springtime. Those that do survive go into the period of early summer, the early summer of life being the bud turning into a blossom. Some develop thorns at an early age, while others develop beauty with soft velvet petals, sweet nectar of their fruits, their berries, fullness, with the proper juices for life.
Many times what we were as buds, as blossoms, now develop into what we are now as fruits, flowers and berries. What we turn into as far as the sweetness or tartness, as far as the smoothness or the thorns, the toughness of the fiber or the softness of the grain depends on the ground around us. If we are cultivated, if we are nurtured, if we have good soil in which to put down our roots for that drink or that bit of nourishment from our Mother Earth. There are some that do not survive into this blooming stage, in this turning into the fruit time of their life, they do not survive. As a small sapling maybe caught in a wind storm, a blade of grass trampled under a hoof of the buffalo, the butterfly caught in a net, it is sad but this is part of life. This is the summer part of life. The growing up, the filling out, the learning, the environment, the area of which we have our roots and are attempting to grow and become something far more than just a seed in the ground. That is the early part of our life, the youth, as we grow older, grow into adulthood it becomes the fall or autumn. When we take on or are given responsibilities, when we have to sort priorities, we have to watch out for these weeds, these thistles that are growing into our area, taking over our roots, taking over the nourishment, the moisture from our bodies. This is the time of growth to the adult stage of this human plant, this human flower or cactus, a thorny bush, prickly vine. Some turn into what they turn into because they are of seed from that type of plant, they have no choice, that is their heritage. Some that are destined to be flowers, to be tasty fruit, to be succulent berries have a choice, to not be just that but to be sour. Instead of their trunk growing straight to the heavens up to the Heavenly Lodge, Grandfather, Medicine Men, Holy Men and Great Warriors, grows crooked as a snake on the sands of the desert because that is the life they choose. That is the way they choose to grow. By the time that they get to late fall, late autumn of their life they are very much set in their ways, no changing them, they do not want to change. They associate with other thorny growths, they associate, they gather together with other sour fruits, sour berries, flowers although flowers most generally are very pretty, some flowers have but few petals and those petals are curled, spotted fungus because the seed in the beginning did not drift or float or fly far enough from its original environment or influence upon it by other living things in the area that are growing. When this flower, berry, fruit, tree, blade of grass goes into the fall or autumn as pretty much permanent characteristics so by the time that winter comes they either die or they survive. If they have not been cultivated or nurtured or they have not had the proper diet, proper moisture, proper nutrition and yes, even the proper attitude, the proper perspective of life, the priorities of life, they are caught in the blizzard, in the cold, in the wind, the fast moving waters of the flood. The mountains that slide down because they have nothing to grasp onto, they have no grip. As you see looking around there are trees, flowers even in the winter, berries, fruits, boulders, rivers, beautiful snow. They are secure while other times not so much so, this is life, the Seasons of Life.
We have most times control as a seed leaving the plant, many times it is up to that blowing, drifting, going downstream seed as to what it grasps onto, it reaches out onto the first thing it can snag itself onto or if it is somewhat choosey. You have four seasons in life, it is never really too late even in the winter, even in the winter be a survivor. Survive the storms, storms of life of the winter season and there are others that perish, broken trees, dead bushes, dead flowers, dead, not just sleeping, dead. Grandfather has to recycle them possibly into something useful. Then there are some that during any season in their life, spring, summer, fall, autumn, winter can change as the river sometimes can change their course, as the river sometimes. Grow towards the sun instead of growing towards the darkness. Sink roots deep into the ground so that the wind let alone a gentle breeze will not blow them over, pull their root system out of the ground and make them fall to Earth, die. The flowers bloom and are beautiful in the winter even some fruits, some trees stay green year round while others have to go to sleep. Some go to sleep in the winter, sleep forever, never wake up, you have a choice, we all have a choice. We can remain as we were in the Spring of our Life when first born, stay as we were in the summer of our life, our youth, our budding, blossoming time or autumn when we take on these responsibilities, grow into maturity and yes, even as the mountain tops turn white with age as man does, man also has a choice, humans have a choce, it is not too late, never too late to be something of beauty, something worthwhile, a survivor of the Seasons of Life. We also put forth upon this Earth, this Mother Earth, give to Mother Nature, give back to Grandfather and the Council from our loins some seed which we, we need to show a good path, show the good soil in which to grow, the moisture to drink. Show the way to grow towards the sun, towards the heavens, how to live among other beautiful flowers, straight trees, beautiful boulders, succulent berries, fruits with sweet nectar. We can guide these seeds from ourselves, not always work but at least we can try, make something wonderful that Grandfather has given us to give, given us to pass on. Let's all try to put forth our best to be a creation of beauty, a creation of sweetness, our trunks straight, our branches full and the seasons of life will be again passed on and passed on to generation, to generation, to generation maybe someday no more thorns, no more sour fruit, no more shriveled flowers, our choice, Seasons of Life, whether it be on the desert, plains, forests, the mountains, the valleys, the meadows, everyplace made up of beauty. You look, look for the beauty, be beautiful yourself, your mind, your heart, your Soul, your Spirit, be with Grandfather, have Grandfather inside of you, walk with Grandfather, walk with the Council, walk with those that have gone before us and now reside in the Heavenly Village. Grandfather will be pleased, Grandfather loves us, one and all. Do you wish to make him cry, make him sad, "No". Let's do our best, do the best that we can with the seasons of our life, with our offspring, our seeds, our fruits, our blossoms, our flowers, straightness of our offspring's, little saplings growing up beside of us or growing hundreds of miles away but turning into something beautiful, something useful.
