Impatience
~~~~~~~~~~~
Why are we so impatient in life, we do not seem to be impatient when we cross over. From
what we understand about the other side there is no rush, there is no hurry to get things done. We have no need for perfection
but in life our daily chores, our daily efforts, there is no with lack of patience. We want to hurry up for evening to come,
the sun to fall so we can take inventory of all of our accomplishments which most are not that important. Impatience with
our knowledge, fill our brain, our mind with things that we want to maybe impress someone or we have a job to do, a task,
chore. We get so impatient with that, most times that turn out imperfect, we are not even close. We want to finish this letter,
we want to finish building something of wood or clay or paper even. Our patience grows short with ourselves and with others
because we seem to be in a hurry. When we cross over there will still be things that we have not accomplished here on Turtle
Island, Mother Earth. Seems that our mind and our brain, our hearts, our emotions are filled with tasks, accomplishments.
We want things done yesterday not today or tomorrow. Yes, there are things that need to be done today maybe should have done
yesterday, are put off but what if we did not do them yesterday, what if we do not get them done today, there is always tomorrow.
Our learning ability, our desire to be intelligent, our tasks are within us to be smart, to know the answer to all problems,
we have studies, intellectual studies. We want to make something to eat maybe we have never taken upon this task before and
we want it to be perfect, we want it to taste good, we want accomplishment, we want a compliment from someone. If it does
not turn out perfect most of us get frustrated, our bodies get frustrated, we tire ourselves because we are impatient. Impatient
with schedules, impatient with others that we depend on.
Modern conveniences of electricity, when the power goes out we have no light, some of
us can not cook without electricity, run out of gas or propane, things do not function correctly so we get up tight. Why not
patience, as the modern worlds says kick back, kick back enjoy the slowness, the peacefulness of nature. A tree does not grow
to provide shade overnight, grasses do not progress without nourishment and the creatures that feed on these grasses, we plant
a fruit tree we want beautiful apples, succulent oranges, plant a bush we want berries tomorrow. Same way as with ourselves,
we hurry through life and when we cross over we still consider ourselves a failure because we have not accomplished everything
that we put forth for us to conquer. The water is first a spring, turns into a brook, turns into a stream, into the river,
into the ocean then it goes back to vapor in the air and is returned as moisture from the Heavens. The nectar from the skies
takes time, Grandfather is not impatient of this cycle. These trees we put them into the ground as a seed, takes time to make
a seedling, to grow into that tree that provides that shade or the fruit on its branches.
An animal, even a child, a human child, a baby bird from the egg, a small bird person,
baby bird person takes time, takes patience to create a child, see that child grow, go through its phases of growing into
adulthood and even growing into a full adult. This time is very critical to human beings. Why did not that child that is now
an adult take this path or that path in this world or that world that was available here on Earth, why did they do this, why
did they not do that. Mostly we are critical of ourselves, we have a task, we want it done now. we just do not want it done,
we want it done perfectly, correctly. What happens when we cross over and go to the Heavenly Village hopefully to sit in Heavenly
Council with Grandfather, Holy Men, the Medicine Men, the Great Warriors who have gone before us. We have to learn to be patient,
patient with ourselves, patient with our decisions with others. We go to the Council with a problem or a burden, we want our
problem and other people, another animal, another creature or another of Grandfathers creation sometimes maybe we get impatient
with Grandfather, why doesn't he answer my plea, my prayer, my begging, right now even before I get my prayer done. We do
this worse with ourselves, we depend on others to do things, it takes time, we are not the only one, we are not the only task
that they have in their thoughts, their minds, their hearts, Soul, their Spirit especially if we ask for a physical task.
Our lodge, our abode, structures in which we live, we have a repair to make sometimes
we put it off and put it off as it is not important at the time, a leaky roof all of a sudden tears come from the sky and
it leaks, here we are impatient, impatient to get it done, impatient for it to quit raining so we can fix that roof when it
stops raining. We put if off as we have more important things to do then we get impatient with things, we need to be patient
yet be constructive. We need to make certain priorities of what is most important to get it done correctly, get it done period.
Then we go into our next task, we do not have to go back, we have done the best we can. There are a lot of areas that we are
not experts or proficient in, that is when we really get impatient, when we have to ask someone else, another human to do
this for us or to help us with things. We waste a lot of time, waste a lot of energy getting upset with our self, getting
upset with one another. We are all guilty of this, there is not one that just kicks back, let's as they say in the civilized
world, let nature take its course, always have an idea of how it should be done rather than to relax, be patient, let Grandfather,
let the wise Council send down the way to do this, a plan, a blueprint of life. Blueprint of life is not full speed ahead
as like on the freeway, the only thing that we are going to do is smash into a brick wall and smash our heads against the
wall or run off a cliff. If we had a good steady speed to work, to function, to complete a task, no frustration, be not impatient,
we have to be patient. It is like wanting our horse to drink so we can get things done, get back on then ride him until he
is thirsty or hungry, hurry him up to eat, hurry him up to drink.
Why doesn't that little critter run across the roadway faster, why doesn't he cross the
roadway instead of running down it. It is taking these leaves too long to come out, plant a seed we want a flower tomorrow
morning, same way with our self. We plant a seed in our mind, in our brain, in our heart and our Soul, we plant a seed in
our Spirit, an idea, wait, slow down, Grandfather will help you. If we take things upon our self to do these things, we hurry
up, it is like the flowers. There are times in which we wish for a gentle breeze or a little stronger wind sometimes we need
something moved about by the water, this is our desire not Grandfathers wisdom. Let's take every day as a blessing, not hurry
through life, do not wish it was tomorrow, wish it was next week, next month. We wish it was winter, wish it was summer, it
will come, it will come in due time. Need to have patience, patience with Mother Nature, patience with Mother Earth, patience
with Grandfather, with others, with our children, with our pets, our animals, our brothers and sisters of the forest and most
times we, we all are guilty of impatience with our self. Impatient, we want to get something done, get something over with
and when it is done and it is over with, what have you got, you've got another task to fulfill. You are going to cross over
with a handful of tasks and it is not going to make any difference if those tasks are not fulfilled because we are not around
to be impatient about them to be impatient with them.
We want to get out of school, want to get from this point to that point. We are on vacation,
we have only so many days vacation so we have to hurry to get there, hurry while we are there, rush to get home, smash, we
might not get there, we may not get home, get impatient with other people on the roadway or pathway, try to pass and run into
a bump or a ditch, break your self, break your body. Where as if you just kick back the chances are you get there at the same
time as if you rush, you are so tired and frustrated, impatience, impatience,
every minute of every day. We go to sleep to rest our Earthly Temple, to rest our mind,
our Soul, our Spirit, bodies. We set the clock so we start this cycle of impatience all over again. The more patience that
you have the more that you will absorb in life. You plant a seed and you get impatient to watch that little bit of green come
through the Earth, impatience with the waters, impatient with the ground. We plant that seed we wish it to grow, impatient
that that little growth is not larger, with proper care and proper water as with humans, as with animals, like that plant
it takes time to grow sturdy, little buds, little blossoms. These little buds turn into flowers, blossoms, these blossoms
turn into fruit, berries, beautiful flowers. These beautiful flowers attract butterflies and bees that suck this nectar, the
juices from this blossom and give it more nourishment to become beautiful, productive. We realize that it takes time for these
things to unfurl but we do not take time to understand our self. We get so hung up on tomorrow, yesterday was a failure because
we did not get all these things accomplished, today we already say, it is going to be a failure because we do not have time
to do all these things. Make that list a little shorter. Ease your mind, let Grandfather set the pace, set your pace where
you do things relaxed, be guided, you take things upon your self and you say; I will get this done now.
You have so many minutes, so many seconds, so many hours, going to do something else but
remember patience, patience. You will be happier and more content with patience, not impatience.
